Not Worth the Effort

A few weeks ago I swam in my first meet since moving to San Diego: The Mission Valley YMCA Pancake Pentathlon. The Pancake Pentathlon is an annual event in San Diego. You swim each stroke and an IM, then add up your times. The fastest overall time wins. You can choose 50s strokes + 100IM, 100s strokes + 200IM, or 200s strokes + 400IM. Guess which one I did?

50 Fly - 28.36
50 Back - 32.30
50 Breast - 31.31
50 Free - 23.25
100 IM - 1:02.88 DQ

I was fairly happy with my times... especially the 50 free. I got DQ'd in the 100 IM for doing a backstroke flip turn (forgot about that rule!).
