Not Worth the Effort

Sophie sang in the school Honor Choir Christmas Concert today. They were very good despite missing about 10 kids who were out sick. I have posted a 30-second video of them singing "There'll be No School Tomorrow".

In its annual study of graduation rates at colleges and universities nationwide, the NCAA ranked Rice highest in two categories for Division 1-A graduation rates.

Rice graduated 81% of its student-athletes, while Tulane graduated 79%. LSU, on the other hand, only managed 55%.

Cindy showed no fear at the Wild Animal Park petting zoo this weekend. She just kept chasing the animals around! Fortunately, they are very docile.

Can you believe we've killed over 7900 civilians in the Iraq war? That is according to Iraq Body Count. How can anyone consider this a "just war"? Why doesn't the mainstream media report this? Are these numbers just too difficult to validate?

Here is an interesting one-sided take on the war. I'm curious to see it, but it would probably only depress me further.

I happened to be downtown Tuesday for jury duty and got to see the Governator's rally. Lots of people were craning to get a glimpse of Arnold, but the crowd thinned out about two minutes into his short (10 minute?) speech. He seemed so much like an actor reading his lines. Only in America....

The big news? He's proposing a $15B bond measure. Better to tax our kids rather than ourselves.
