The Odyssey Begins...

The start of our three month long odyssey to England began in New York. Well, Parsippany, New Jersey actually. We stayed in the Embassy Suites there because it is very close to Chuck and Lisa in Mountain Lakes. Little did we know that this would be the most comfortable hotel we would stay in for some time.

After a nice dinner at the Graf's house on May 22, we ventured into New York City to see a show the next day. I was the only member of the family who had seen a Broadway show before. We got in line for the half-price tickets and ended up with great seats for Beauty and the Beast. We decided to take a Gray Line bus tour of downtown Manhattan and stopped at the Empire State Building along the way. Thomas really wanted to go to the top, so Cindy and I waited in the 45 minute line with him and went up. Of course I accidentally left my camera with Jennifer so no pictures from there! We waited for another 45 minutes to do down, then met the rest and continued our bus tour. It took longer than expected. We had to skip dinner to make it to the show on time. All of the kids loved the show, though, so it was worth it.

Jennifer was bitten by the Broadway bug so we went back to Manhattan again the next day. She waited in line to get half-price tickets for Curtains. Then we took the subway to Battery Park and hopped on the Staten Island Ferry to get a free view of the Statue of Liberty. We ate dinner at John's Pizzeria and went to the show. Thomas thought it was by far the funniest thing he had ever seen -- and not just because of the adult language!

Below are our pictures from New York (you can see all of them on Snapfish). Stay tuned for more from Mountain Lakes....

We're Moving to Hungerford!

Our whole family is moving to England for the summer. I have a 3 month assignment at the former Axiom Connection office in Hungerford, West Berkshire (about 1.5 hours west of London). We are currently planning to fly to London on May 27 and we are hoping to spend a few days with the New Jersey Grafs on the way there.

HP acquired Axiom who makes photo kiosk software and that team will be working on our next-generation photo kiosk. I am going there to help with the knowledge transfer about the current Photosmart Express Kiosk.

I visited the office last week and took these pictures. It is going to be a great adventure!

Bob Quin Award

A few weeks ago I was contacted by Quin McWhirter, the nephew of Bob Quin. I received the Bob Quin Award my senior year at Rice and he was updating web pages for all of the past recipients. He put together a really nice bio of me. Check it out!
