41-17
Rice looked like they had been spending a few late nights in the French Quarter instead of preparing for the game as they were throttled by Troy. The lone bright spot was that standout wide receiver Jaret Dillard extended his NCAA-leading record to 15 consecutive games with at least one touchdown catch.

New Orleans Bowl
Rice is going to its first bowl game in 45 years. We'll be playing powerhouse Troy this Friday in the Superdome for the coveted New Orleans Bowl title. I guess this is the sixth year for the New Orleans Bowl, but I had never heard of it. I won't be making the trip but will instead watch the game with other San Diego Rice alums at Trophy's in La Jolla.

Passau, Germany
I was in Passau, Germany for a 4-day business meeting the week of November 27. I mostly saw the inside of a conference room, but we did go out to eat each night. Friday night we went to the Christkindlmarkt, a traditional Christmas market that started the Friday before Advent and ends on Christmas day. Highlights included the 1/2 meter bratwurst and the glühwein.

I took a few photos which you can see on Snapfish.

Grand Canyon
We spent Thanksgiving week in Flagstaff, Arizona with Jennifer's Aunt Chris and Uncle Lyle. They were great hosts, taking us to lots of nearby sites. The trip culminated in a visit to the Grand Canyon by way of the Grand Canyon Railway. Some of our photos are below, the rest are on Snapfish.
